Daily prompt: Misstep

“May what I do flow from me like a river, no forcing and no holding back, the way it is with children.”

― Rainer Maria Rilke

So, I was talking to a friend the other day. One of those moments you just thank Mark Zuckerberg  for becoming so rich and famous by giving you the opportunity to talk to “friends” online, “friends” you once saw every single day but now are long gone from your everyday life, scattered all around the world.

Anyway. We spoke about creativity.  That think when you do something, you express yourself – or at least you think you do. The moment you’re in the zone, fully immersed in an activity that brings out the best of you, and also the worst. You are fully involved, fully absorbed: you are flowing.

It’s been some time since I experienced that “flow”. I always thought you need to put your life in order first. But then, the social media wisdom struck me: “I don’t appreciate when I have to put things in order,” said a friend of a friend to that friend of mine.

After all, life is not a flow chart, hon.
